Commission approves airport leases; schedules hearing on AI Data Centers
The Lincoln County Board of Commissioners met Tuesday, January 27 in the Lincoln County Boardroom. With all members present, the commission heard agenda items. LHS wrestlers in action at home; Larson earns runner up at Conference Tournament
Grant Larson captured second place honors at the Dak 12 Conference Tournament held on Saturday. On Tuesday, Jan. 20 the Lennox High School wrestling team hosted Dell Rapids and Dakota Valley. Lennox took on Dakota Valley and lost 53-27 but was victorious over Dell Rapids, wining 48-36. LHS boys take down St. Thomas More
On Saturday, Jan. 24 the Lennox High School boys basketball team traveled to Mitchell to compete in the Hanson Classic, awaiting them was fourth ranked St. Thomas More. Last week the Lennox High School girls’ basketball team took on Dakota Valley on Jan. 20 and West Central on Jan. 22 and grabbed two more victories on the year, defeating the Panthers 50-40 and the Trojans 55-28. Wirt Family named 2026 Farm Family of the Year
Getting involved and promoting agriculture are important to Adam and Melissa Wirt. Through 4-H, FFA and the Stockyards Ag Experience, the Wirts enjoy giving back to the community and spreading a positive message of agriculture. Adam volunteers his time teaching youth about livestock judging and raising sheep, while Melissa works part time at the Stockyards Ag Experience, reaching people from all over the region. LHS girls defeat Western Christian, Vermillion; suffer first loss of season at Hanson Classic
Last week was a busy one for the Lennox High School girls’ basketball team who had a trio of games. On Jan. 13 the Orioles defeated Western Christian, IA by a score of 66-22; on Jan. 15 they defeated Vermillion, 60-24, and on Saturday, Jan. 17 the Orioles went head to head with undefeated Mahpiya Luta at the Hanson Classic.
