Lennox student qualifies for National Tournament: State set for March 6
This past weekend, Senior Emersen Lee qualified for the National Speech and Debate Tournament in International Extemporaneous Speaking. The team started competition on Friday, Feb. 20 in Brandon Valley and completed on Saturday night, Feb. 21 at Sioux Falls Jefferson. The Lennox High School wrestling teams turned in an impressive performance at the Region meets last week, with six Oriole wrestlers qualifying for the State Tournament after top podium finishes. The girls competed Thursday, Feb. 19 at Elk Point-Jefferson, qualifying three athletes, while the boys took to the mat Friday, Feb. 20 at the Region 2A Meet, also qualifying three. LHS boys dominate with 58-28 win over Pine Ridge
Cole Spieler takes the three. On Friday, Feb. 13 the Lennox High School boys’ basketball team traveled to the University of South Dakota to take on Pine Ridge. Lennox came out strong and never looked back, getting the 58-28 victory. “This was as good of a game as the boys have played defensively all season. Sauers claims State Title at Middle School State Wrestling Meet: Vandehoef earns runner up honors, several others make the podium
Lennox middle school wrestlers traveled to Pierre this past weekend to compete in the Middle School State Wrestling Tournament, with several athletes earning podium finishes against top competition from across South Dakota. Leading the way for Lennox was Khloe Sauers, who captured the 155-pound state championship. Sauers battled through a competitive bracket to secure the top spot on the podium. Students compete in solo/ensemble contest
The Lennox High School Choir students competed in Solo/Ensemble contest in Vermillion on Feb. 11. Prior to the event they held a Preview concert for friends and family. Photos from that event are pictured. At the competition, the students are evaluated in several categories by a judge, and then given an overall rating I (superior), II (excellent), III (average/good), IV (below average/poor), and V (unacceptable). Split vote approves $825K Justice Center furniture purchase
With all members present, the Lincoln County Board of Commissioners met Tuesday, Feb. 10 in the Lincoln County Boardroom to discuss agenda items including justice center furniture, hourly rate of Qualified Mental Health Professionals, and department head reports. Worthing Community Fire Department awarded $61,169 from FEMA Grant
Worthing, SD — The Worthing Community Fire Department (WCFD) received $61,169 from the 24FY FEMA Assistance to Firefighters Grant. This funding will be utilized to update fire hoses. LHS girls defeat EPJ, Baltic; fall to Hamlin
The Lennox High School girls’ basketball team enjoyed a busy week of basketball last week, defeating Elk Point Jefferson and Baltic, before falling to Hamlin in a tight match-up against two of the top teams in the State on Saturday, Feb. 7.
