LHS volleyball returns experienced core with high hopes for 2026
With a veteran roster, strong chemistry and a clear goal of returning to the state tournament, the Lennox High School volleyball team enters the 2026 season with plenty of experience and high expectations. The Orioles finished last season with a 24-8 record but saw their season come to an end in the regional playoffs with a loss to perennial powerhouse Sioux Falls Christian. LHS tennis hosts Yankton, Vermillion and Spearfish
Kenzi Bosma and Peyton Herlyn compete in doubles against Yankton last week at home. The Lennox High School girls tennis team opened their season on Aug. 12 taking on St. Thomas More in Mitchell. The match started with doubles where St. Thomas More took the win at all four flights. Flight three doubles, which consisted of Gracie Wood and Izzy Gerdes, went to a match tiebreak and had their chances, but unfortunately dropped the match in the end. In singles, St. Thomas More too

Orioles cross country team to begin season this Thursday
The Lennox High School cross country teams are preparing for another season with a strong group of returning runners and the goal of making another trip to the State Cross Country Meet. Orioles to open season this Friday with state championship rematch
The Lennox High School football team will begin the 2026 season this Friday night with a familiar opponent and a chance to start the year against the team that ended its championship hopes a season ago. The Orioles will host Sioux Falls Christian at 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 28, at the Sinning Sports Complex in a rematch of last season’s 11A State Championship game. The Lennox High School girls’ soccer team made history Thursday, Aug. 20, earning the first victory in program history with a 2-1 road win over Garretson. The Orioles continued their inaugural season Tuesday, Aug. 18, hosting Groton in their first home match at the Sinning Sports Complex. The Lennox High School Oriole girls’ tennis team opened its 2026 season last week, taking on St. Thomas More on Wednesday, Aug. 12. Lennox fell to St. Thomas More, 7-2, in its season opener. Lennox girls soccer compete in first game ever
History was made Friday, Aug. 14 as the Lennox High School girls soccer team took the field for the first time in school history. The Orioles opened their inaugural season against the West Central Trojans, marking the beginning of a new athletic program at Lennox High School.
