On Tuesday, Sept. 26 the Lennox High School girls’ tennis traveled to Tomar Park in Sioux Falls to compete in the DAK XII invite. The event consisted of 12 singles players and six doubles teams from Lennox, Madison, Vermillion and Sioux Falls Christian.
In singles, Madison Buehner, Brooke Buehner and Kathryn Loewe earned wins at flights #1, #3 and #6 respectively.
Then on Thursday, Sept. 28 the varsity and junior varsity team traveled to Madison to take on the Bulldogs. The varsity team dropped the match 3-6, but scored singles wins from Madison Buehner at flight #1, Brooke Buehner at flight #3 and Kathryn Loewe at flight #6.
In doubles, the Orioles had some close matches and competed until the last point, but dropped the matches at flights #1, #2 and #3.
“The Junior Varsity team competed extremely hard and played some of their best tennis of the season,” said Oriole head coach Kevin Plank.
The team was close in many of their singles and doubles matches, but unfortunately in the end they could only pull out one win, which came from Paxton Dubbelde at #1 singles.
