On Sept. 6 the Lennox High School varsity tennis team traveled to McKennan Park in Sioux Falls to take on the O’Gorman Knights. The afternoon match started with four flights of doubles.
The flight #1 duo of Madison Buehner and Brooklyn Buehner went toe-to-toe in their match.
“They started out with lots of energy to take the first set, but the Knights were able to battle back to take the second set to force a match tie-breaker,” said Oriole head coach Kevin Plank.
In the end, the Knights made a few more shots when it counted to secure the win and sweep all four doubles matches.
Following doubles the team went into singles.
“We played some good points and competed hard, but in the end the Knights swept the singles to take the 9-0 team victory,” said Plank.
The team travels to Milbank to take on the Bulldogs and Aberbeen Roncalli on Tuesday Sept. 19, and they travel to Vermillion to take on the Tanagers on Thursday, Sept. 21.
