Lennox tennis prepares for State Oct. 4-6

The Lennox High School girls’ tennis team traveled to Millbank on Sept. 22 to take on the Bulldogs and Aberdeen Roncalli. The day started off with doubles against Millbank, where the Flight #1 duo of Brooke Buehner and Karlie Bosma earned the win 10-5; Flight #3 Kenzie Bosma and Peyton Herlyn took the win 10-6, and Gracie Wood and Izzy Gerdes at Flight #5 earned the win 10-1.  

In singles, the Bulldogs proved to be too strong this time around as the Orioles could only earn the win at Flight #3 10-2.  In the end, the Bulldogs took the team win 6-3.

The Orioles, then took on the Cavaliers; the match started with doubles with Buehner and Karlie Bosma avenging a loss earlier in the season to take the win 10-5.  Ella Ellwein and Maliyah Hofer and Herlyn and Kenzie Bosma played competitive matches at Flights #2 and #3 respectively, but couldn’t come away with the wins. In singles, Buehner and Karlie Bosma secured wins at Flights #1 and #3 respectively, but the Cavaliers took wins in the other four flights to win the team dual 6 to 3.  

Next up, the Orioles travel to Madison on October 1 for their last varsity and JV match-up of the season.  The LHS varsity team heads to Rapid City October 4-6th for the State Tournament.
