Lennox Car Show Monday, July 5th



Al Schoffelman is well-known at area car shows, in fact, Schoffelman has already attended six this year. He is pictured above at the recent Teapot Days Car Show held June 18, 2021.

At those car shows, he often will hand out posters advertising the annual Lennox Car Show that has been part of the annual Old Fashioned Fourth of July events for years. Schoffelman has been volunteering as the organizer of the car show for the past three years.

This year the car show will take place on Monday, July 5th along with all of the other usual events — like the road race, parade and arts in the park.

Pre-registration is available through June 26 for $15, visit www.lennoxnews.com/4th-of-july-events to print the entry form. Cost the day of the event will be $20. The car show is located at Highway 44, 1/2 mile west of Highway 17. Known as the old football field for those from the area. Registration will take place 9 a.m. to noon on July 5th with the show taking place from noon to 4 p.m.

Schoffelman said he’s made a few changes from prior years, such as with the number of classes.

“In previous years some classes were very popular and some were not, so we split it up,” Schoffelman said, “I talked to other car show organizers and they adjust too.”

Schoffelman said the 1960’s and early 1970’s are the most popular. There are 31 classes that include: 1. 1900-1954 Car Stock, 2. 1955-1961 Car Stock, 3. 1962-1969 Car Stock, 4. 1970-1975 Car Stock, 5. 1976-1980 Car Stock, 6. 1981-1999 Car Stock, 7. 2000-Present Car Stock, 8. 1900-1954 Car Mod., 9.1955-1961 Car Mod., 10. 1962-1969 Car Mod., 11. 1970-1975 Car Mod., 12. 1976-1980 Car Mod., 13. 2000-Present Car Mod., 14. 1981-1999 Corvette, 15. 1953-1996 Corvette, , 16. 1997-Present Corvette, 17. 1964-1990 Mustang, 18. 1991-2010 Mustang, 19. 2011-Present Mustang, 20. 1960-1990 Mopar, 21. 1991-Present Mopar, 22. 1967-1999 Camaro-Firebird, 23. 2000-Present Camaro-Firebird, 24. 1900-1972 Pickup, 25. 1973-1990 Pickup, 26. 1991-Present Pickup, 27. Semi-Truck All, 28. Rat Rod, 29. Motorcycle - Foreign, 30. Motorcycle - Domestic, 31. Tractor, People’s Choice, and Best of Show.

The Lennox Car show also allows attendees to bring their own shade. Entertainment will be provided by DJ — Mylan Ray

from Pipestone. Trophies will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place in each class. Another new feature this year will be goodie bags for those who enter and some of those goodie bags will include cash said Schoffelman.
