Golfers continue success, win home Triangular


On Thursday, Aug. 27 the Lennox High School boys’ golf team hosted a Triangular with Beresford and Flandreau. Lennox won with a team total of 162. Beresford golfers finished with a 177 and Flandreau a 194.

Leading the Lennox golfers on Thursday was Konnor Gayle who shot a 39. Gayle’s 39 was enough to win the event.

Dalton Plucker and Brandon Sweeter each shot a 40, finishing second. Caleb Wipf, Gavin Sanculi, and Zach Zirpel each shot a 43, tying for fifth. Max Bambas and Cash Voegele each shot a 48 and Matt Stengrim shot a 53.

In Junior Varsity action, Jackson Anacker shot a 46, Tyler Strasser a 49 and Owen Boomgarden a 58.

On Monday, Aug. 24 Lennox competed in the Dell Rapids Invite where they placed fourth among the 13 teams. Vermillion won the Invite, followed by Sioux Falls Christian in second and Tea in third.

Leading the Lennox golfers at the Invite was Gayle who finished with an 80 to take ninth place. Plucker shot an 83 on the day, tying for 15th.

The LHS golfers were scheduled to travel to Spring Creek golf course on Tuesday, Sept. 1 where they competed in the Sioux Falls Christian Invite.

The team will host another match on Tuesday, Sept. 8.
