Worthing Days celebration

Worthing held their annual community celebration last weekend, Aug. 25 and 26. Friday night’s event included a cruise night and car show on Main Street with a People’s Choice award handed out at the close of the evening. The award went to Denise Overweg. Twenty six cars entered the show. The Dakota Lassies and Ranger 4-H Club were at the Civic Center that evening to serve a community meal.

The Masonic Lodge also had a table out front serving root beer floats.

Saturday’s events seemed to be well attended as crowds lined Main Street to watch the parade held that morning. The youngsters were able to fill their buckets with candy that was thrown from the local organizations and businesses that passed by.

There were 14 5k runners and mile walkers Saturday morning, with proceeds benefiting Honor Flight. The bean bag tourney also benefited Honor Flight, 12 teams participated.
