FFA members qualify for state, will demonstrate leadership skills at “Fall Fling”


The Lennox Sundstrom FFA Chapter will be hosting a “Fall Fling” on Tuesday, November 22, at 6:30 p.m. in the Lennox High School Cafetorium. During the “Fling” students competing in FFA Leadership CDE’s will perform and give demonstrations. All FFA families and interested guests are invited to attend. Those performing qualified Monday night, November 14, at the district competition held in Parker, pictured above.

Planned for the evening are demonstrations by the teams which all won their respective competitions at the district level. The Senior and Junior Parliamentary Procedure Teams each won. Senior team members are Cooper Benning, Sami Nordmann, Sarah Kroeger, Zach Bultena, Corissa Sweeter, Elizabeth Steever, Jacob Ziegler and Abbie Strasser (alternate). The freshman team includes Madeline Loewe, Quincy Naatjes, Ben Zarr, Gavin Gibney, Matt Kruid, Austin Metivier and Kaleb Smit. Gavin Smit and Levi Andernacht are alternates.

The Agriculture Communications team of Sarah Kroeger, Brook Geiken, Naomi Reiss, Megan Cramer and Sam Bach (alternate) will also be presenting. This year’s Agriculture Issues team will do a presentation on whether or not speculators are having a negative effect on commodity markets. The winning team members are Michaela Jaspring, Anthony Finnell, Makyah Seguin, Maddy Wentz and Kendra Stien.

Individual winners Sarah Kroeger and Madeline Loewe will do their speech and creed. Jacob Ziegler also qualified for state by placing second in Job Interview. Kalbe Lunstra is the state alternate in Ag Broadcasting, he placed 4th at districts.

The Lennox Sundstrom F.F.A. Support Group is sponsoring the event to give the members a chance to perform for supporters before the state competition to be held on December 4 and 5. Guests will be served hotdogs, bars, and chips by the F.F.A. (Family, Friends, and Alumni) Support Group.
