Working together, making an impact: Lennox Area Community Fund gears up for Giving Tuesday

The Lennox Area Community Fund has been in existence since 2004. It was then that the LACF was established as an affiliate of the Sioux Falls Area Community Foundation. The goal of the LACF is to help improve the quality of life for those who call the communities of Lennox, Chancellor and Worthing home.

The fund works thanks to the benefit of a pooled investment that generates long-term asset growth. Through the power of endowment, more than $110,000 has been granted to nonprofits and causes throughout Lennox, Chancellor and Worthing.

For the past several years, the LACF board of directors has made a concerted effort to reach out to the communities that make up the LACF and ask for donations on Giving Tuesday — November 30th.

GivingTuesday is a global generosity movement created in 2012 as a simple idea: a day that encourages people to do good. It always takes place the first Tuesday following Thanksgiving.

The LACF will be sending out postcards informing residents how to make a donation prior to GivingTuesday. Board members encourage all residents to watch for the information.

Jonathan Hagena serves as president for the Lennox Area Community Fund’s Board of Directors. Other LACF board members include: Alan Rops (Vice President), Lisa Westra (Secretary), Brian Zirpel (Treasurer), Don Sweeter, John Steever, Carol Wulf, Pam Elhoff, Robert Beringer, Laurie Shaffer, Tonya Ringen, Lorin Brass, and Kelli Bultena.

The board invites you to join them in this important work. Please consider a gift in celebration of the South Dakota Day of Giving on Giving Tuesday 2021. Every gift, large or small, helps to make our local communities stronger for future generations.

To make a donation now, or on Giving Tuesday visit lennoxareacommunityfund.org or mail a donation to Lennox Area Community Fund, C/O Valley Exchange Bank, P.O. Box 19, Lennox, SD 57039.
