Voters in Lincoln County decidedly struck down a tax levy in Tuesday’s Special Election.
With an eight percent voter turnout, the county referred resolution was overwhelmingly opposed — 2,906 votes NO and 422 votes YES.
The resolution was adopted by the Lincoln County Commissioners earlier this summer, and was referred to the voters by petition. Resolution number 2107-23 would have been a property tax increase of $0.30 per $1,000 of taxable valuation to fund maintenance, repair, construction and reconstruction of roads and bridges in Lincoln County.
