Veurink, Nelson finish in top 30 at State A Golf

Lennox High School golfers Grayden Veurink and Easton Nelson competed in the 2026 State A Boys Golf Championship Oct. 5-6 at Lakeview Municipal Golf Course in Mitchell, finishing among the top 30 golfers in the tournament.

Veurink tied for 26th place with a two-day total of 158, finishing 14 strokes over par. He opened the tournament Monday with an 83 (37, 46) before improving by eight strokes Tuesday to card a 75 (37, 38) in the second round. He recorded a birdie on day one and four birdies on day two.       

Nelson finished just behind Veurink, tying for 29th place with a two-day total of 159, 15 strokes over par. Nelson shot a 79 (39, 40) in Monday’s opening round and followed with an 80 (43, 37) on Tuesday. He had two birdies on day one. 

Both golfers represented Lennox in the two-day state tournament, competing against the top Class A golfers from across South Dakota.
