Thoms earns 100th career win: Four LHS girls reach podium at Floyd Farrand Tournament, two boys earn podium honors

Sophomore Jocelyn Thoms reached a major milestone in her high school wrestling career, earning her 100th career victory while competing at the Floyd Farrand Tournament on Monday, Dec. 29, at Sioux Falls Lincoln.

Thoms was one of four Lennox High School girls wrestlers to compete in the tournament, with all four stepping onto the podium. Thoms placed fifth at 135 pounds, while Khloe Sauers also earned a fifth-place finish at 155 pounds. Nika Rasmussen placed sixth at 120 pounds, and Marin Bartscher finished seventh at 140 pounds.

The Lennox boys wrestling team competed the following day, Tuesday, Dec. 30, at the Floyd Farrand Tournament at Sioux Falls Lincoln. Grant Larson placed fourth at 175 pounds, while Cade Aasheim finished seventh at 132 pounds.

The Lennox girls were back in action on Friday, Jan. 2, competing at Salem, where Thoms continued her strong performance with a third-place finish at 135 pounds. Rosearia Rohrer placed fourth at 145 pounds.

The LHS boys will be in action again this Saturday, Jan. 10 when they compete in the Garreston Tournament. They will be at Vermillion on Thursday, Jan. 15 taking on Vermillion and Elk Point Jefferson.  The LHS girls will travel to Vermillion with the boys.
