Orioles wrap up regular season

The Lennox High School volleyball team wrapped up their regular season on Monday, Oct. 27, with a tough match-up against powerhouse Sioux Falls Christian. The Orioles fell in straight sets, 0-3, but will now turn their focus to Region play, which begins Tuesday, Nov. 4. Lennox is scheduled to host Beresford.
Leading up to their season finale, Lennox had a busy week on the court, taking on Sioux Falls Lutheran, McCook Central/Montrose, and Baltic.
On Monday, Oct. 20, the Orioles traveled to Sioux Falls Lutheran and came away with a strong 3-0 victory, winning 25-16, 25-14, and 25-17.
Libby Kranz led the offense with 12 kills and four aces, while Jersie Hostetler added 10 kills and three blocks. Addison Martz tallied four blocks, and setter Catie Sherard distributed 19 assists and served four aces. Defensively, Andie Peters anchored the back row with 14 digs.
The following night, Oct. 21, Lennox continued their winning ways on the road with a sweep over McCook Central/Montrose (25-10, 25-12, 27-25). Martz finished with six kills and two blocks, while Kranz added five kills. Mallorie Bittner and Sydney Johnson each contributed two blocks, and Sherard once again controlled the pace of play with 14 assists and three aces. Peters had a strong defensive outing with 17 digs.
On Thursday, Oct. 24, the Orioles hosted Baltic during senior night in a close and competitive match but ultimately fell 27-29, 16-25, 22-25. Kranz paced the attack with 10 kills, followed by Hostetler with six kills and a block. Johnson added a block at the net. Setter Hannah Adney recorded 14 assists and two aces, while Peters collected 12 digs and Addy Stucky added 10.
