On Monday, Apr. 22 the Lennox High School baseball team traveled to Tir-Valley and earn the 6-5 win.
Lennox scored in the top of the first but trailed after Tri-Valley put up two runs in the bottom of the inning. However, the Orioles answered back scoring a run in the top of the second, top of the third, top of the fourth and two more in the top of the eighth to get the win.
Talen Eich drove the middle of the lineup, leading Lennox with two runs batted in. He went two for five at the plate. Isaac Bambas and Dayne Moeller also collected two hits in the game. Jaxson Bittner led the team with two walks.
On the mound, Mason Reischl earned the win. He gave up four hits and two runs over four and one-third innings, striking out five and walking one. Braxton Musser led things off on the mound for Lennox. He allowed six hits and three runs over three and two-thirds innings, striking out none and walking two.
On Wednesday, Apr. 24 the team traveled to Baltic and earned an 18-3 victory. Moeller collected three hits in three at bats to lead Lennox in the offensive onslaught. Moeller doubled in the first, singled in the second and singled in the fifth.
The big inning game for Lennox in the top of the seventh when they scored seven runs on six hits. Jackson Anacker was struck by a pitch, driving in one run, Gabe Veurink singled, scoring one run, Ethan Larson, singled, scoring one run, Landon Atkins singled, scoring one run, Musser singled, scoring another run, Emory Lefers drew a walk to score a run, and Sam Bambas singled, to bring another runner across home.
I. Bambas earned the win for Lennox, giving up six hits and three runs over six innings. He struck out six and walked two. Veurink threw one inning shout ball in relief. He surrendered zero hits, strikeout out one and walking none.
Moeller led the team with three hits, I. Bambas, Bittner, Eich, and Triston Butler each had two hits in the game. Also recording a hit were S. Bambas, Veurink, Ramsey Williams, Larson, Atkins, Cullen Wright, and Musser.
The team was scheduled to host McCook Central/Montrose on Wednesday, May 1 and will compete at Hanson on Thursday, May 2. They will travel to Corsica on Sunday, May 5. The team will be back home on Monday, May 6 when they take on Beresford.
