Orioles compete in Dak 12 Meet

The Lennox High School boys’ golf team competed at Two Rivers in Dakota Valley on Monday, Sept. 12, in the Dak 12 Meet. 

Eli Plank led the Orioles with a score of 78, finishing tied for 22nd place. Plank shot a 39 on both the front and back nine to lead the Orioles. Both Easton Nelson and Grayden Veurink shot an 80 on the day to tie for 25th place. Nelson shot a 39 on the front nine and a 41 on the back. Veurink shot a 38 on the front nine and a 42 on the back. 

Justin Butler finished with an 81 to take 34th place. Butler shot a 39 on the front nine and a 42 on the back nine. Griffin Eich shot an 85 (45, 40) on the day to take 43rd.Cason Zens shot an 86 (43, 43) to finish in 46th place. 

Winning the Dak 12 Meet was Vermillion’s Jeran Carr, who shot a 66 on the day. Vermillion also won the team title. Lennox finished sixth as a team. 

The Orioles will compete in the Region 2A Meet on Sept. 28 at Two Rivers. The State Meet is scheduled to be held at Lakeview Municipal Golf Course in Mitchell on Oct. 5 and 6.
