The Lennox Independent and Tea Weekly newspapers announced the illustrators chosen for the 2020 Holiday Coloring Book. Artists that were chosen from Lennox High School include: Jenaka DeCou, Destiny Hofer, Tatum Coon, Addyson Bisschop, Krimzon Summers, Makinleigh Wallenstien, Jensen Hoefert, Alexis Fischer, Alicia Ruud, Olivia Denning, Shayla Mork, and Tiffany Haas.
Receiving the title of top artist and a $25 cash prize was Destiny Hofer.
Publisher Kelli Bultena offered her thanks to art teacher Emily Maras at Lennox High School for encouraging students to submit their work.
“Also to our sponsors,” said Bultena. “Thank you for sponsoring this project and helping these students become published illustrators.”
Area children can receive a copy of the Holiday Coloring Book at the Lennox Santa Day event and coloring books will be delivered to their elementary school later this month.
The Lennox Commercial Club is hosting their annual Santa Day event on Saturday, Dec. 5 from 2 to 4 p.m. with changes this year in order to ensure public safety.
This year’s event will be held outside on Lennox Main Street at the Moose Brothers Construction building, formerly Lewis Drug.
Children are invited to drop off their Christmas wish list in Santa’s mailbox and receive a goody bag. Santa will be nearby to wave and pose for pictures.
There was a coloring page in last week’s newspaper that children can color and bring along to be entered into the Santa Day Coloring Contest, the coloring page is also available on the Lennox Commercial Club Facebook page.
Children will not be able to sit on Santa’s lap this year, but this festive event will allow kids a chance to let the Man in Red know just what they want for the holidays.
The Lennox Commercial Club is also planning a home decorating contest with cash prizes this year up to $250.
The Lennox Commercial Club invites all residents in Lennox to decorate their homes for the holidays to take part in the first Lennox Commercial Club Holiday Lights & Home Decorating Contest. There is no need to enter your address to participate just turn on your lights/animated scenes from 6-9 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 18 for judging. Judges will announce the winner on the Lennox Commercial Club Facebook Page and in the Dec. 24 Lennox Independent. Only homes within the city limits of Lennox will be included in judging. Cash prizes will be delivered by the end of December by a Commercial Club Member.
