Local fitness center readies for New Year

We all have made New Year’s resolutions in previous years and sometimes we follow through and sometimes we don’t. Resolutions succeed and fail for numerous reasons, but one of the most popular New Year’s resolutions is usually to lose weight or to become healthier. Becoming healthier is so broad; it can include your physical or mental health.

If physical health is top on your priority list this new year, Forever Fitness in Lennox is one place that is ready to help you achieve those goals.

“As with any goal, people need to be realistic. Slow and steady results over time is the best way to maintain any goal. You can’t expect to lose all the weight or build a bunch of muscle overnight. It takes time to achieve those goals,” said Forever Fitness owner Mary Hilligas.

One other challenge that causes people to not be able to achieve their health goals is saying they don’t have time. For those who feel like they don’t have time, Hilligas stated that a half hour or hour workout is two to four percent of your day.

“You can find two to four percent of your day to devote to your health,” Hilligas added. “If you don’t have your health you have nothing.”

Finding time for our health is a priority we all can try to push towards the top of the list, especially when it doesn’t have to require large amounts of our day. The other convenience that Forever Fitness offers is that they are always open. Members can use the facility any time they choose. This also helps people who have limited time frames of when they can work out.

Besides your standard gym options of cardio and strength training, Forever Fitness also offers additional classes. Hilligas and Heidi Poppens teach the following classes: yoga, mat Pilates, insanity, shift and lift, insanity live and move.

All of the classes offered by Forever Fitness are held across the street in the First Financial Building. This building offers the additional space needed for the classes. Each class has a maximum of eight students per class. This ensures that everyone is socially distanced from each other and has plenty of room to feel comfortable completing the class.

If you are interested in any of the services that Forever Fitness offers, contact them; they are ready to answer any questions you might have.

Hilligas wants everyone to feel welcome when they come to the facility. Forever Fitness is meant to be more like a family, she says, they encourage you to leave your headphones at home and talk to those working out beside you. Get to know your fellow members and become part of their “fit fam” as they like to call their group.
