LHS golfers swing into season

On Tuesday, Aug. 20 the Lennox High School golf team began their season with the West Central Early Bird meet at Hartford. 

Lennox was led by Cole Spieler and Jaxson Bittner who each finished with an 89, to tie for 39th place. Spieler shot a 45 on the front nine and a 44 on the back and Bittner shot a 43 on the front nine and a 46 on the back. 

Griffen Boomgarden shot a 90 (39, 51) to tie for 42nd and Eli Highum shot a 96 (51, 45). 

Also competing for Lennox were Emmitt Odland who shot a 96 (45, 51) and Wyatt Holland who shot a 99 (50, 49). 

Lennox finished ninth as a team. Winning the team title was Dakota Valley. Vermillion to second and West Central third. Sixteen teams competed. 

On Monday, Aug. 26 the team competed at the Rocky Run Golf Course in Dell Rapids. 

Odland led the way with a 31st place finish and score of 82 (42, 40). Bittner finished in 37th with a score of 83 (41,42), Boomgarden shot an 84 (42, 42) for 40th place. 

Holland shot a 92 (49, 43) to finish in 63rd, Spieler a 93  (44, 49) and Highum a 94 (47, 47).
