On Tuesday, Aug. 29 the Lennox High School boys’ golf team competed at Spring Creek in the Charger Invite.
Lennox finished 13th as a team among the 15 teams competing. Vermillion won the team title.
For Lennox, Griffen Boomgarden led the way with a 46 place finish and score of 89. Boomgarden finished with a 44 on the front nine and a 45 on the back. His day was highlighted with a birdie.
Eli Homan and Talan Dierks each shot a 93 on the day. Homan finished with a 48 and 45, also recording a birdie. Dierks shot a 46 and 47, and also had a birdie on the day.
Alex Heibult shot a 94 (48. 46), Braxton Musser a 97 (48, 49) and Ryan Benning a 108 (53, 55).
The team traveled to Mitchell on Friday, Sept. 1 to compete in the Parkston Invite.
Lennox finished tenth as a team among the 15 teams competing. Leading the way for Lennox was Benning who shot an 85 on the day, shooting a 44 on the front nine and a 41 on the back.
Homan and Dierks both shot an 89. Homan shot a 43 on the front and a 45 on the back. Dierks shot a 44 on the front and a 45 on the back.
Heibult shot a 95 (50, 45), Boomgarden a 95 (46, 49) and Musser a 101 (53, 48).
The LHS varsity golfers will be at Vermillion on Thursday, Sept. 7.
