LHS cheer to host Community Give Back Game supporting The Brave Little One

The Lennox High School Cheer program is introducing a new tradition this season with the Lennox Cheer Community Give Back Game, an evening dedicated to supporting a family and organization making a difference in the local community.

The first Community Give Back Game will be held Friday, Sept. 18, during the Lennox vs. Canton Homecoming match-up at the Sinning Sports Complex. The Lennox cheerleaders have selected The Brave Little One as the recipient of this year’s fundraiser.

The Brave Little One was established in memory of Pruitt Kruse, the 6-month-old son of Ashley and Chris Kruse, who passed away from OTC deficiency. The organization is committed to honoring Pruitt’s memory by supporting families facing medical hardships and providing adaptive clothing at no cost to children with feeding tubes.

Funds raised through The Brave Little One help cover the cost of mailing adaptive clothing and purchasing sewing materials. The organization also provides financial support to families experiencing medical hardships, funds two high school scholarships, supports Sloths for a Smile at the children’s hospital and provides Pruitt’s Peace Packages to grieving families during the holidays. Donations also help cover supplies and other expenses for events hosted by the organization.

The Lennox Cheer program hopes to use its platform to give back to the community and make a positive impact.

Donation buckets will be available before and after Friday night’s game as fans enter and leave the stadium. Cheerleaders will also circulate through the stands between the first and second quarters and again between the third and fourth quarters to accept donations.

One hundred percent of the donations collected will go directly to The Brave Little One Foundation.

The organization expressed its appreciation for being selected as the first recipient of the Lennox Cheer Community Give Back Game.

“We are incredibly grateful to have been chosen as the first Community Give Back Game this season,” The Brave Little One shared in a Facebook post.

The organization said there is something special about seeing the community come together to support one another and that every dollar raised will help continue its work in Pruitt’s memory.

“Thank you for using your platform to make a difference. We are beyond grateful to be surrounded by a community that continues to support us, remember Pruitt, and help us carry his legacy forward in a positive and meaningful way,” the organization stated.
