On Friday, Dec. 12 the Lennox High School boys’ basketball team began their season, hosting a strong Sioux Falls Christian team.
The Orioles were unable to get things going in the second half and suffered the 64-38 loss.
“We ran into a really good team on Friday night, and they proved why they’re ranked as the preseason number one team,” said LHS head coach Jacob Hinker. “We didn’t shoot the ball as well as we would’ve like to and will continue to improve in that area along with others. This game showed us exactly where we need to grow, and we’ll get back to work and get ready for our game against Madison on Thursday.”
For the Orioles, Aiden Hanssen led the way with 14 points. He grabbed eight rebounds, and had two assists.
Eli Plank finished with seven points, going three of six from the field. He also had one steal.
Tate Gerdes finished with six points, nine rebounds, and one assist. Drake Mikkelsen had four points and six rebounds. Teegan Musser had three points, two rebounds and Cole Spieler and Cohen Soukup each had two points in the game.
The LHS boys will host Madison on Thursday, Dec. 18 in double header action with the LHS girls. The Lennox boys will be in Canton on Monday, Dec. 22.
