On Monday, April 6 the Orioles battled back from an early deficit to earn a 13-10 win over Madison.Â
Lennox struck first in the bottom of the opening inning, taking advantage of control issues on the mound. After three hit batters and a pair of walks, the Orioles pushed across two runs for an early 2-0 lead.
Madison responded in a big way in the second inning, capitalizing on walks and timely hits to plate six runs and take a 6-2 advantage. The Bulldogs added three more in the third inning to extend their lead to 9-2, putting Lennox in an early hole.
The Orioles began chipping away in the third inning, scoring twice to make it 9-4, and continued to close the gap in the fourth. Lennox added two more runs in the inning, helped by a Madison error, to pull within 9-6.

On the mound, Cole Spieler set the tone early. After working out of a first-inning jam that saw Tri-Valley put runners on second and third, Spieler settled in and limited the Mustangs’ offense. He was backed by a solid defensive effort, including a key double play in the third inning that erased a scoring threat.
Tri-Valley’s lone run came in the fourth inning, taking advantage of a Lennox error to cut the lead to 3-1. The Orioles responded in the bottom half of the inning, adding a run when courtesy runner Justin Butler came around to score on a passed ball to make it 4-1.
Lennox extended its lead in the fifth inning. After Bittner reached base and eventually scored on a Tri-Valley miscue, the Orioles added two more runs on an RBI single from Mason Reischl to push the advantage to 7-1.
From there, Lennox pitching and defense took over. Spieler continued to keep Tri-Valley off balance, recording multiple strikeouts and allowing minimal traffic on the bases through the middle innings. He finished with four strike-outs in the game. Reischl also recorded two strike-outs on the mound.Â

Bambas delivered a key RBI single, and the Orioles added two more runs with the help of a wild pitch and aggressive baserunning to take a 4-2 lead after one inning.
From there, Lennox pitching settled in. Bambas worked through early traffic and kept Beresford Area off the scoreboard over the next several innings, stranding runners and recording key strikeouts. The Orioles defense backed him up with several clean innings, including a double play in the sixth to halt a potential rally.
