On Wednesday, Nov. 20, Lennox competed at the Region meet in Vermillion for a chance to qualify for the State Oral Interpretation Festival being held in Watertown.
Maddigan Van Sickle qualified in non-original oratory by placing in the top three at regions. Allsion Schultz is the alternate in the poetry category for state.
Also competing for the team were Ainsley Calhoon in storytelling, Bryson McDaniel in dramatic interpretation, and Khloe and Kashton Sauers in duo interpretation.
Maddigan will perform her piece at the State meet which is scheduled for Dec. 5-6 at Watertown High School.
The team participated in several earlier competitions at Lennox, Bon Homme High School, and Mitchell High School.
“We had several first-time region performers and a couple of returning performers. I am very proud of their efforts and their performances. I feel it is safe to say that we participate in one of the most difficult regions in the state. I look forward to watching them continue to grow as performers,” stated coach Michael Larson.
