The Lennox sixth grade boys basketball team wrapped up an extraordinary season by compiling a 36-1 overall record and capturing championships in both the North Dakota Middle School State Tournament and the Nebraska Middle School State Tournament.

Coached by Joe Reints and Brock Rops, the team finished undefeated against all sixth-grade opponents and did not lose a single game to travel teams throughout the season.

Their lone loss came by just two points against a seventh-grade team.

The season featured success across multiple tournaments, beginning with a championship at the Impact Tournament where Lennox finished 4-0. The team followed that with another title at an Omaha tournament, going 3-0 to win its pool.

At the Heiser Tournament, Lennox posted a 2-1 record and finished runner-up, while the Mitchell Tournament ended early because of weather after the team had already secured a 2-0 record.

Lennox won its own tournament with a 3-0 finish and continuing its strong run at the Avera Invite, where the team went 5-0 for another championship.

Additional titles followed at the Tri-Valley Tournament (3-0), the Sanford Pentagon Rim Rocker Tournament (3-0), and the Luke Hanson Tournament (3-0).

The team closed the year by winning back-to-back state-level events, first claiming the North Dakota Middle School State Tournament Club/Travel Division title with a perfect 4-0 mark, then winning the Nebraska Middle School State Tournament School Division championship with another 4-0 performance.

Players on this year’s team included Nate Kruse, Marek Wulf, Creyton Seykora, Treyton Hardie, Mason Reints, Bennett Lund, Lance Kolthoff, Dirk Vander Kooy, and Sutton Rops.
