Lennox is ready to celebrate Independence Day with music, fireworks and fun, as the community marks its 42nd annual Old Fashioned Fourth of July Celebration. What began in 1984 with a vision from members of the St. Magdalen Catholic Church has grown into a beloved tradition, now organized by the Lennox Commercial Club.
This year’s festivities span three days—Thursday, July 3; Friday, July 4; and Sunday, July 6—with something for all ages to enjoy.
The fun kicks off tonight, July 3, on Main Street starting at 5:30 p.m. Cruise Night invites car lovers to show off their rides, while the Little Miss Pageant takes the stage at Westerman Park’s bandshell. The evening heats up with a street dance on North Main from 7:30 p.m. to 1:00 a.m., featuring live music by Whiskey Rich and headliner Weston Frank. Food trucks will be on hand, and tickets are available at the gate.
On Friday, July 4, the day begins with the Firecracker Fun Run at 8:00 a.m., followed by the community-favorite parade at 10:30 a.m., winding through Lennox’s streets. The Car Show on Park Drive, open from noon to 3:00 p.m., will showcase classic cars, trucks, tractors, and motorcycles.
Westerman Park will be bustling with craft and food vendors, live music, and the ever-popular kiddy pedal pull in the afternoon. As the sun sets, the Lennox Municipal Band will perform at the bandshell at 8:00 p.m., setting the stage for a spectacular fireworks display at dusk, launched from the high school parking lot.
The weekend wraps up on Sunday, July 6, with a community worship service at 10:30 a.m. in Westerman Park and a tractor pull at the 4-H fairgrounds at 1:00 p.m.
From parades and pedal pulls to music, food, and fireworks, Lennox’s Old Fashioned Fourth of July is set to deliver another unforgettable celebration of community and country. Happy fourth of July!
