The community of Lennox celebrated the opening of the new community swimming pool with a ribbon cutting and open house on May 31, 2020.
The following day, on June 1, children and families lined up at noon to be one of the first to jump in. City Council approved the pool to open at the full capacity of 260 patrons.
City Administrator Nathan Vander Plaats said, “It was amazing! We had a great group lined up at the start of the day, and I would estimate a total of approximately 300 swimmers throughout the day. We don’t believe we had more than 210 at any given time, so there is plenty of room for more.”
The pool offers zero depth entry, heated water, high dive and low dive, deck sprays, lap lanes, play structures, basketball hoop, and light concessions. Pool pass registration forms can be found online at cityoflennoxsd.com
This year all patrons are required to fill out a waiver, which can be printed out from the city website (cityoflennoxsd.com)that acknowledges the user assumes the risks of contracting COVID-19 and absolves the City of Lennox from all claims in connection with any exposure or potential exposure to COVID-19 as a result of their voluntary activity.
Pool hours will be Monday through Sunday Noon to 8 p.m. Admission fees area as follows: Individual Season Pass $50, Family Season Pass $100, Daily Pass (child) $3, Daily Pass (senior) $4, and Daily Pass (adult) $5.
