The Lennox Sr. Legion Post 174 baseball team hosted the Tea TinCaps on June 28th and came out on fire, grabbing the 12-0 victory after 4-1/2 innings of play.
Lennox got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Conner Eich grounded out, scoring one run; Ethan Larson singled, scoring two runs, and an error scored an additional two runs. Before innings’ end Ashton Bach singled, scoring one run, and an error scored another to give Lennox a commanding 7-0 lead.
Lennox added another run in the second with Eich’s double, making the score 8-0. Lance Spieler homered to left field, scoring two runs in the bottom of the fourth to seal the shutout.
C. Eich handled pitching duties, giving up only two hits and zero runs over five innings. He struck out seven and recorded no walks.
Bach led the team with two hits in two at-bats. Larson and Eich each drove in two runs for Lennox.
