Larry Stroman to be enshrined into Huset’s Hall of Fame

The Huset’s Hall of Fame Committee has announced the Class of 2026, with five individuals set to be honored at the 29th Annual Huset’s Hall of Fame Open House and Induction Ceremony, presented by Midwestern Mechanical of Sioux Falls, on Sunday, July 12 at Huset’s Speedway. This year’s inductees include Jerry Richert Jr., Larry Stroman, Gale Pifer, Paul Krueger and Don Marquardt, each recognized for their lasting contributions to racing at Huset’s and throughout the region.

Among this year’s honorees, Stroman has spent more than five decades as a respected engine builder, car builder and mentor in the local racing community. As the owner of Stroman Motorsports, he has constructed countless race cars and engines over the past 57 years, with his work powering a wide range of divisions including modifieds, super modifieds, stock cars, sprint cars and today’s IMCA RaceSaver sprint cars.

Now 84, Stroman remains active in the race shop, continuing a lifelong career that has spanned more than six decades as a builder, mechanic, owner, mentor and ambassador for local racing. His craftsmanship and influence have left a lasting mark not only at Huset’s, but at tracks across the region, where many of his engines have competed.

Stroman, who lives in Chancellor, also continues to support his family’s involvement in the sport, often assisting his grandson, Casey Abbas, with racing efforts.

The annual induction ceremony will feature an open house and formal recognition of this year’s class, celebrating the history and continued legacy of Huset’s Speedway and its racing community.
