The Lennox Area Community Fund (LACF) is promoting their annual fundraising drive — South Dakota Day of Giving on Giving Tuesday 2021.
This year, the LACF is asking residents of Lennox, Chancellor and Worthing to consider making a donation on South Dakota Day of Giving on Giving Tuesday 2021 — November 30th.
Every gift, large or small, helps to increase the fund balance and allows the LACF to continue to give grants to local organizations like the Lennox Area Ambulance.
The Ambulance is one of the organizations that received money from the LACF’s 2021 grants. Others include: Lennox Community Library, Lennox Area Historical Society, Chancellor Fire Department, Lennox High School HOSA (Health Occupation Group), Lincoln County 4-H, Lincoln Co. Fairgrounds Foundation, and the Worthing Fire Department. A total of $12,182 was awarded to the organizations.
Lennox Area Ambulance received a $1550 grant from the LACF. “That makes a big difference,” said Director of EMS Alan Perry.
The money will be put towards the purchase of two binder lift devices.
“These devices will help to ensure safety for the patients and the crew members when lifting patients in difficult situations,” said Perry. “Any injuries to the patient or the crew that we can prevent is welcomed as a back injury to one of my crew can be a career ending injury.”
Last year the Lennox Area Ambulance ran 460 calls. Current Ambulance members include: Angela Cuka, Logan Fischer, Zach Foss, Ignacio Larios, James Johnson, Isaac Lambertus-Land, Mark Luvaas, Paige Moeller, Feyet Munshikpu, Stellen Nice, Nathan Ochsner, Kennedy Spurlin, Rebecca VandeBraak, James Voyles, Colt Mayfield, Chris Mikkelsen, Brenda Sinning, Amy Roseland, Kimberly Velk, Josh Poppen and Alan Perry.
The LACF encourages community members to consider donating in an effort to continue to make impacts on organizations like the Lennox Area Ambulance. The LACF also reminds organizations to mark the annual grant application due date on the calendar. Grant applications are due every year on Aug. 1.
Next week we will highlight another organization that has benefited from the LACF grants.
