Junior and Senior Legion baseball season underway

The Lennox Junior and Senior Post 174 Legion baseball teams began their season last week.

The teams got started on May 31 with a match-up at Harmodon Park in Sioux Falls against Sioux Falls Post 15.

The Junior Legion took to the field first and despite a strong effort, suffered the 8-2 loss.

Ramsey Williams, and Jack Aasheim both hit the ball well in the match-up.

The Post 174 Senior Legion were able to get the win over Post 15,

Sawyer Bowers got the start and pitched the first two innings. He also did a solid job as lead off hitter.

Isaac Bambas threw well on the mound earning the win. He also went 2 for 4 at the plate.

Conner Eich shut Post 15 down in the seventh inning for the save. Tristan Butler caught a great game for Lennox.

On June 3 the Senior Legion was at home against Tea.

Conner Eich pitched 6-2/3 innings for Lennox. He allowed two hits and three runs while striking out five. Braxton Musser threw one-third inning of n inning out of the bullpen.

Lennox found themselves training 3-0 heading into the top of the seventh, where they scored three runs in the inning. However, Tea answered back with one of their own to take the 4-3 win.

Ethan Larson and James Bondesen both had big hits to help even the score in the seventh inning.

The Junior and Senior Legion teams will compete at Wakefield Nebraska beginning Saturday, June 10 and continuing through Sunday, June 11.

The Dakota Classic Tournament will be held in Lennox, June 16, 17 and 18.
