Monday, September 21, 2020 Lennox High School held their annual Coronation event and the tradition of crowning a Homecoming Marshal and Queen continued.
Although hardly a typical school year due to the on-going Coronavirus pandemic, students at LHS were able to celebrate Homecoming Week with many of the usual events. Coronation saw some changes in style, the chairs for the audience were spaced apart, and masks were worn by those in attendance. However the band played, the coaches and athletes were recognized and the royalty court was announced by Kaylee Bosma and Xavier Larson.
Royalty candidates included Blake Gibney, Peyton Eich, Tyler Plank, Matthew Kruse, Zachary Zirpel, Jenaka DeCou, Tori VanderWaerdt, Mara Hinker, Lily Mechels, and Jordan Christensen.
Next up for Homecoming events will be the Homecoming parade on Friday, Sept. 25.The parade begins at 1:30 p.m. with line-up at Park Drive at 12:30 p.m. The parade route is as follows: North on Main to First Ave., east on First Ave. to Cherry; south on Cherry to Sixth Ave., east on Sixth Ave. to exit (Hwy. 17). Elementary students will go west on Sixth Ave. to return to the school.
Following the Homecoming Parade, the Varsity Football game against Canton will kick-off at 7 p.m. at home.
