Holland leads Oriole golfers in recent meets

The Lennox High School golf team competed in the Parkston Invite on Friday, Sept. 5. As a team, Lennox finished seventh among the 13 teams competing. Madison won the team title. 

Individually the Orioles were led by Wyatt Holland who finished 18th with a score of 83 on the day. Jaxson Bittner shot an 84 to take 21st. Giffen Boomgarden took 32nd with a score of 86, Grayden Veurink finished 43rd with a score of 89, Eli Highum 46th with a score of 91 and Cason Zens 57th with a score of 96. 

In Junior Varsity action, Elijah Hanson shot a 95 for the Orioles. 

On Monday, Sept. 8 the Orioles were in Vermillion. They finished seventh as a team. 

Holland once again led the team with a score of 82, finishing in 17th place. 

Boomgarden shot an 85 on the day, placing 25th. Bittner shot a 91 to take 48th, Veurink a 94 to take 56th, Highum a 97 to place 64th and Justin Butler a 105, placing 76. 

The Orioles were scheduled to compete against Madison on Tuesday, Sept. 9 and  will be at home again on Tuesday, Sept. 16 when they play host to Vermillion at 2 p.m. at the Lenkota Golf Course.
