Hedin, Hopf to reign over Homecoming week festivities

On Monday night, Lennox High School held their 2026 Homecoming Coronation. 

Following a performance by the LHS band, the LHS choir, and a variety of skits, the time came to crown the 2026 Marshal and Queen.

Last year’s Queen Macy Wallenstein placed the crown over Rylee Hedin’s head. Following the crowning of the Queen, last year’s Marshal, Talen Eich, held the crown over the Marshal candidates before finally placing it on Jayden Hopf’s head. Hedin and Hopf will reign over this week’s Homecoming festivities. Other Queen candidates included Haven Larson, Sophie Smith, Kassidy Williamson and Sydney Johnson. Other Marshal candidates included David Bartscher, Drake Mikkelsen, Eli Plank, and Brennen Juffer. 

Emcees for the night were David Bartscher and Drake Mikkelsen. 

On Friday, Sept. 18 the Lennox Homecoming Parade will take place at 1:30 p.m. The parade route will be same as the 4th of July parade (Main Street, headed north to 1st Avenue, west to Elm Street, and south to end - photo below). Parade entrants can start lining up on Park Drive at Noon on Friday, Sept. 18. Enter from the west side, by the softball fields.

Anyone who would like to see the LWC Intermediate or Lennox Elementary students in the Homecoming Parade should be north of Fifth Avenue, where the students will enter the parade.

Following Friday afternoon’s parade, tailgating will begin with a fundraising meal by the LHS band. They will be serving pork sandwiches beginning at 5:30 p.m.

The Oriole football game against Canton, the “Black and Blue Bowl” will kick-off at 7 p.m. The Oriole Pride Marching Band will perform their field show at halftime.
