Larry Bendt to be inducted into Lennox Post 174 Baseball Hall of Fame

It was a special moment for the Lennox baseball community as the Bendt family was recently informed that longtime coach and mentor Larry Bendt will be inducted into the newly formed Lennox Post 174 Baseball Hall of Fame.Â
Larry Bendt dedicated countless hours to coaching and shaping generations of players—both as athletes and as individuals. Known for his passion, knowledge, and unwavering commitment, Larry’s influence extended far beyond the diamond. He was more than a coach; he was a mentor and role model.Â
By Larry’s side throughout the journey was his wife, Joyce Bendt, who was just as much a part of the team as the players themselves. As the team’s longtime scorekeeper, Joyce was a constant presence—through victories and defeats. Her sharp eye behind the scorebook made sure players earned their hits, and her steadfast support helped guide many young men through the emotional highs and lows that come with the game.
Anderson inducted into State Hall of FameÂ

The South Dakota High School Baseball Association (SDHSBA) recognized members of the 2025 Hall of Fame class. The new inductees included eight former standout high school players, two coaches, three contributors, and the 2012 Vermillion Tanagers team.
Among those honored was Lennox’s own Brock Anderson, a 2019 graduate and one of the most decorated players in Lennox High School history. Anderson was a two-time First Team All-State selection and was named the 2019 Midco Sports Class B Pitcher of the Year. That season, he posted a 4-0 record with a 1.02 ERA and struck out 39 batters, leading the Lennox Orioles to a state championship. Following his high school career, Anderson went on to play collegiate baseball at South Dakota State University. Anderson was inducted on Saturday, May 24.Â
