Golf competes at Vermillion Invite

On Monday, Sept. 9 the Lennox High School golf team traveled to Vermillion to compete in the Vermillion Invite. 

Jaxson Bittner led the Orioles with a 21st place finish and score of 83. Bittner shot a 44 on the front nine and a 39 on the back. Griffen Boomgarden shot an 86 on the day, hitting a 41 on the front nine and a 45 on the back. He finished in 32nd.

Emmitt Odland shot a 92 to take 43rd with a 44 and a 48. Wyatt Holland shot a 93 with a 46 and a 47. Eli Plank shot a 96 with a 48 and a 48 and Cole Spieler shot a 101 with a 48 and a 53. 

Lennox finished in eighth place as a team. Thirteen schools participated. Dakota Valley won the team title, followed by Vermillion in second and West Central in third.  

Trey Hansen from Vermillion won individual honors with a 71 on the day. 

Following the Vermillion Invite the Orioles hosted West Central and Madison on Tuesday, Sept. 10 in a dual. Bittner led they for the Orioles. Also participating in the dual were Boomgarden, Odland, Spieler, Holland, Plank, Eli Highum, Grayden Veurink, Elijah Johnson, Justin Butler, Gabe Veurink, Jackson Anacker, Tate Hovers, Noah Buhta, Bode Sweeter, and Koen VanderKooy.
