The 2026 SDHSAA State Wrestling Tournament was held Feb. 26-28 in Sioux Falls, with four Lennox High School wrestlers earning podium finishes.

Rosearia Rohrer led the way for the girls, placing fourth at 140 pounds. Grant Larson captured fifth place at 175 pounds for the boys. Ramsey Williams finished sixth at 150 pounds after being forced to withdraw due to medical reasons, and Jocelyn Thoms placed eighth at 130 pounds for the girls.

“It was great to see four wrestlers make the podium,” said Lennox head coach Matt Hanson. “The season was filled with challenges, and the kids overcame them one after another. Whatever was thrown at them they would rise to the occasion. Our senior class, Preston Otte, Nate Ariens and Ramsey Williams will be missed.”

Rohrer Takes Fourth at 140

Rohrer pinned Ellie Stofferahn of McCook Central/Montrose in 1:06 to open her tournament before falling to Quinn Butler of Lemmon by 17-2 technical fall.

In the consolation rounds, Rohrer defeated Neva Austin of Hot Springs by 10-2 major decision and pinned Skye Guthmiller of Sioux Valley in 2:29. She advanced to the consolation semifinals, where she earned a 7-4 sudden victory over Rakyrah Wallace of Aberdeen Central. Rohrer’s tournament concluded with a fall to Brooke Grajczyk of Watertown in the third-place match, securing a fourth-place finish.

Larson Battles Back for Fifth

At 175 pounds, Larson started strong, pinning Samuel Brink of Rapid City Stevens in 1:08. He dropped his quarterfinal match to Gavin Werlinger of Sturgis Brown by fall in 3:02.

Larson responded with an impressive run through the consolation bracket. He earned a 17-0 technical fall over James Fitzpatrick of Brookings in 2:32, followed by an 11-0 major decision against Bennett Lukken of Dakota Valley. In the fifth-place match, Larson secured a 15-0 technical fall over Landen Lewis of Watertown in 1:44 to claim fifth.

Williams Takes Sixth at 150

Williams opened his tournament with an 11-3 major decision over Levi Quam of Madison in the first round. He followed with a 10-3 quarterfinal victory over Trevin Audiss of Tea Area. After advancing, Williams was forced to pull out of competition due to medical reasons. He medically forfeited in the consolation semifinals to Dylan Ulmer of Rapid City Central and again in the fifth-place match to Audiss, finishing sixth overall.

Thoms Finishes Eighth at 130

Thoms fell in her opening round match to Brenna Reker of Brandon Valley by 5-0 decision. She rebounded with a 5-4 decision over Marin Rhode of Canton and a dominant 15-0 technical fall over CeCe Percy of Lead-Deadwood.
