Next week students in the Lennox School District will be heading back to the classrooms.
There will be an Open House on Monday, August 23rd from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at all of the school buildings. Students in Lennox and Worthing elementary and LWC intermediate can meet their teachers and place belongings in lockers and desks. This is a perfect time for 6th grade students to practice locker combinations. In the Junior High and High School, students will receive their class schedules, locker assignments, and will have the chance to meet teachers.
The first day of school is Wednesday, August 25th.
Each day starts at 8:15 a.m., with arrival no sooner than 8:00 a.m. as that is when the school doors open. Junior High and High School dismisses at 3:25 p.m. and elementary dismisses at 3:30 p.m.
If your student missed the District Registration Day last week or would like a picture retaken, Scherling Photography will be back on the morning of September 8 for picture retakes.
The new additions at Lennox Elementary are fully functioning. It was noted in a letter to parents that on the west side of Lennox Elementary, only buses and school vehicles will be allowed to park, drop off, and pick up students. To bring your child or children to school or to pick them up after school, parents and guardians are requested to use the parking on the north side of Lennox Elementary or the parking lot on the east side of Lennox Elementary.
Some other notes of interest include the following:
• Shorts may be worn until October 18th. Principals may alter the dates if warm or cold weather conditions exist.
• Parents wanting access to Campus to check grades should contact Dawn.Timmerman@k12.sd.us for their username/password.
• Dual Credit classes begin on August 23. Laptops for Dual Credit students will be available for pickup during Open House from 5-7 p.m. If you need your laptop earlier, you can pick them up from the HS office on the 23rd.
• Lennox will be offering the free USDA reimbursable lunch and breakfast meal for this coming school year 2021-22. For students to get the federal reimbursable meal they must have at least one choice of 1/2 cup of vegetable or fruit on their tray, or they will be charged ala cart price.
