The Estwick Gallery officially opened its doors in Lennox with a ribbon cutting on Friday, Aug. 1. The new gallery, located at 228 N. Main Street, showcases the work of artist and photographer Alycia Bromar-Estwick.

Gallery hours are Thursday and Friday from 12 to 5 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., or by appointment.

Bromar-Estwick’s passion for photography began in childhood with a simple Brownie camera.

“This has been a passion since I was a child and I have been serious with photography for 35 years even though I’ve never taken a class,” she told the Lennox Independent in an interview in January of 2025.

Her love of capturing moments and exploring new places has taken her across the United States. Over the years, she has operated galleries in Utah and California, specializing in fine art photography with a focus on landscapes. She is also known for her award-winning boudoir and private portrait work.

“Everything I shoot is here in the beautiful USA—from Arizona, California, Texas, Utah, everything in between, and of course right here in South Dakota,” Bromar-Estwick said.

She seeks to preserve the magic of rural areas, historic buildings, and fleeting moments through her lens.

She feels the best part of photography is the ‘capture,’ because many things she’s photographed are no longer there. To have the remnants of what used to be, whether that’s people or landscapes, is very special to her.

Her work has been exhibited internationally, with pieces currently on display at the Thompson Gallery in Switzerland, the Nicoleta Gallery in Berlin, the Andakulova Gallery in Dubai, and at the Art Expo in Paris, just blocks from the Louvre.

Despite her global recognition, Bromar-Estwick is excited to put down roots locally.
