Paxton Dubbelde and her 4H team recently participated in the National Western Round Up Horse Classic in Denver, Colorado, showcasing their equine skills on a national platform.
The event, held Friday, Jan. 5, showcased the team’s exceptional skills and commitment, culminating in a series of prestigious awards.
The team’s achievements included a 5th place in Halter, a 6th place in the Team Performance category, and 7th place in Team Reasons. The team also secured 4th place overall in the horse judging category, making history as this is the highest a South Dakota team has ever placed for overall horse judging.
The team also earned 1st place in overall all high points throughout all the horse events — hippology, horse judging, horse quiz bowl and presentations. This marks the first time that a team from SD has ever accomplished this feat.
