Lennox has been home to many locally owned businesses, but for more than 25 years, one shop has been making its mark by turning houses into homes. Dose’s Custom Cabinets Inc., located at 47034 277th Street, has been owned and operated by William Dose since 1999.

“We build custom cabinets for your home including kitchens, baths, bars, laundry rooms, entryways, pantries and bedrooms—pretty much any room that you need a cabinet for, we can build for you,” said Dose.

The company prides itself on being rooted in the community and keeping everything local.

“We’re a small, locally owned business that supports our community. Everything is built right here in our shop, and we take the time to get to know our customers to best fulfill their needs,” Dose explained.

Like many small business owners, Dose said the biggest challenge has been keeping up with demand.

“Finding time to take care of all of the customers,” Dose said is the hardest part. “We have lots of work come in the door, and just keeping up is a task. We try not to turn any project away, no matter how big or small.”

The shop is made up of a close-knit team.

“We have a team of 10 guys, and three of them are my family,” Dose shared. “We also like to employ local high school kids.”

Kitchens remain the most popular project for Dose’s Custom Cabinets, but no matter the space, customer satisfaction remains the top priority.

“It’s fun to have customers tell us that we were the best part of their new house build or remodel—that means we’re doing something right,” he said.

As for the future, Dose said he wants to keep it simple. “Just to keep making people smile.”

Being a part of the Lennox community has always been important to him.

“The people—Lennox is a great community that looks out for each other,” Dose said.

“At the end of the day, we’re just a shop full of guys doing our very best to make sure that you have a great experience with your cabinet needs,” said Dose.
