Boomgarden, Holland qualify for State golf

The Lennox High School golf team competed in the Region 2A Golf Meet on Monday, Sept. 29 at The Bluffs in Vermillion — at stake, a trip to the 2025 State Golf Tournament.
Two Lennox golfers punched their ticket to State with Griffen Boomgarden capturing eighth place at Regions and Wyatt Holland taking 22nd.
Boomgarden shot a season’s best, 76, on the day. He finished with a 38 on the front nine and a 38 on the back. His rounds were highlighted by three birdies.
Holland finished with a 45 on the front nine and a 39 on the back to shoot an 84 on the day. He had one birdie on the back nine.
Others competing at Regions for Lennox were Eli Highum who shot a 93, Jaxson Bittner who shot a 93, and Grayden Veurink who shot a 97.
The 2025 State A Meet will be held at The Bluffs in Vermillion on Oct. 6-7. Play will begin at 9 a.m. on both Monday and Tuesday morning. The tournament will be a two-day, 36-hole event with each contestant playing 18 holes each Monday and Tuesday. Scores can be followed on Golf Genius with the code: 25SDBOYSA.
