Boomgarden, Holland compete at State A Meet

On Monday, Oct. 6 and Tuesday, Oct. 7 two Lennox High School golfers — Griffen Boomgarden and Wyatt Holland, competed in the 2025 State A Golf Meet held at The Bluffs in Vermillion. 

Boomagarden led the way for Lennox shooting a 164 in the two-day tournament, which tied him for 28th place among the over 100 golfers competing. On Monday, Boomgarden shot an 84, hitting a 42 on the front nine and a 42 on the back. His day was highlighted with par on eight holes.

On Tuesday, Boomgarden shot an 80, hitting a 40 on the front nine and a 40 on the back. He had a birdie on the day and shot par on ten holes. 

Holland tied for 35th with a two-day total of 167. 

On Monday, Holland shot a 39 on the front nine and a 44 on the back to finish with an 83. He shot par on nine holes. On Tuesday, Holland shot an 84, shooting a 44 on the front nine and a 40 on the back. He had two birdies on the day and shot par on eight holes. 

“It was a great two days of golf for both Griffen and Wyatt. They both showed that they could stay poised and play good golf in a competitive environment against some of the best golfers in our class. It is always great to end the season at the state golf tournament,” said LHS head coach Jacob Hinker. 

Winning the State A individual title was Hayden Heig from St. Thomas More, shooting a two-day total of 138.
