Lennox hosts Old Fashioned 4th of July

The 38th Annual Old Fashioned Fourth of July events provided a very pleasant back to normal atmosphere in Lennox last weekend. Although numbers in attendance were down, the Lennox Commercial Club reported it all went well.

Club President Todd Shuman of Sunshine Foods said, “We were very happy with how everything went. The town really came together for the events in these uncertain times.”

Newly elected Lennox Mayor Stacy DuChene acknowledged the hard work of the Commercial Club volunteers.

She said, “Many thanks to the Lennox Commercial Club and their countless hours of work putting together another great Old Fashioned 4th of July! Also a huge thanks to any and all others, especially, our fire, ambulance and police folks, who ensured the safety of all citizens and visitors as we enjoyed the festivities.”

The car show had 100 entries, only a slight difference from last year’s 111 entries. Watch next week’s newspaper for results from the car show.

The arts in the park saw a smaller crowd as well. The kiddie tractor pedal pull had 71 entries, over half of last year’s 166 entires. Results from the Pedal Pull and Little Miss Contest will be in next week’s newspaper.

Below are snapshots of the July 4th parade. Parade entries were down from last year, as were spectators but still a good turn-out was on hand for the businesses, politicians and organizations that provided the parade entries.
