The Lennox High School Junior Varsity squad opened their season on Monday, Aug. 31 by traveling to Elk Point to take on the EPJ Huskies. Lennox opened the first quarter with a touchdown on their opening drive. Later in the quarter they scored again to open up a 12-0 lead.  The Huskies answered with a touchdown, but the Orioles found the end zone once again with only seconds left in the half to go up 18-6 at the break.

EPJ put up a great fight in the second half. They scored two touchdowns and converted a couple of two point conversions, while the Orioles scored once, making it 22-24 in favor of Lennox. After a Lennox punt, the Huskies took the lead at 28-24 with under four minutes remaining.  Lennox responded by marching down the field to take the lead at 30-28, and with two big defensive stands on third and fourth down at midfield, the Orioles ran the clock out for the victory.

On  Labor day, Lennox took on Vermillion in defensive battle. The Tanagers stifled the Oriole offense while the Orioles got some key stops to keep Vermillion from the endzone. The Orioles had some chances but couldn’t find the endzone.  After the Oriole defense forced a fourth down with two seconds left, the Vermillion kicker cleared the cross bar for the victory. This evens the Oriole JV record at 1-1.

The JV play again on Sept. 14 when they play host to Tri-Valley.
