Lennox’s new finance officer started with the city Feb. 1, but this is not her first time working in city government.
Denise Hanson, who got her degree in accounting from Mount Marty College, worked as the finance officer in Worthing from 1999 to 2005. From 2005 to January 2019, Hanson worked for the Sioux Falls Catholic Diocese doing accounting. She said working for city government again is like riding a bike.
“I’m getting adapted to the city life. It’s good, but City of Lennox has more funds and areas than City of Worthing did. It’s kind of like riding a bike once you remember what you’re doing,” Hanson said.
