Another important step on the path to the construction of a new swimming pool in Lennox was completed this week.
During the December 10 city council meeting, the Lennox council approved the response to the RFP (Request for Proposal) by Carrother’s Construction Company LLC.
Carrother’s response to the RFP included a variety of useful information for the council including the guaranteed maximum price, the conceptual design, and a list of other projects done by the company. The response lists Larkin Aquatics as their design partner for the project. According to the response, Carrothers and Larkin have been working together as a build team for over 60 years on aquatic projects.
The guaranteed maximum price that was listed in this response was $1,702,000.
This included the following items that were listed in the design:
Facility Footprint - 100’ x 200’, Patron - 265 each, Pool Water Surface Area - 5,125 sf, Pool Water Volume - 180,000 gal, Swim Lanes - 4 each x 75’, Swim Lane Depth - 3.5’ to 5.0’, Pool Deck Area - 6,100 sf, Bathhouse Area - 1,085 sf, Grass Area Inside the Fence - 2,940 sf.

In-Deck Deck Sprays - 6 each, 1M Diving Board - 1 each
Allowance for future items:
Area Plumbed for Future Figure “8” Slide, Conduit in place for Future Figure “8” Slide, 3M Diving - Diving Basin Constructed of Sufficient, Size for a Future 3M Diving Stand, Area Plumbed for Future Tot Slide, Process Piping Plumbed for Future Pool Heater
As for other projects done by Carrother’s they listed a multitude of aquatic projects in Nebraska, Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, and Texas.
