LHS Student Council prepares for Homecoming 2018


The Lennox High School student council is looking forward to another busy year starting with Homecoming activities. The theme this year takes us around the world with a Passport to a Victory!

High school students will show their spirit by dressing up during the week of September 24-28. The dress-up days center around the travel theme and are as follows: ‘Merica Monday, Travel in Time Tuesday, Where’s Waldo Wednesday, Tropical Thursday, and Oriole Spirit Friday.

The public is invited to attend the planned activities throughout the week: Monday, September 24 –JV and 9th grade football against Dakota Valley here at 4:00 and Coronation at 8:00; Tuesday, September 25 – JH football home against Dakota Valley at 4:00, Varsity volleyball against Beresford at home at 7:30; Thursday, September 27 – JH volleyball against West Central at home at 4:30, Varsity volleyball against Dell Rapids at home at 7:30; Friday, September 28 – Homecoming Parade at 1:30, Cross country meet at Lenkota CC at 3:30, and Varsity football against Madison at home at 7:00; and Saturday, September 29 – marching band travels to Brandon for the Big Sioux Review.

The Homecoming parade will begin at 1:30 on Friday, September 28. The parade route will begin on the corner of Park Drive and Main Street. The parade will head north on Main St. and then take a left on West First Ave. and go by Ebenezer Presbyterian Church. There will be a left taken to then head south on South Elm St. The parade will end on the corner of South Elm St. and West Fourth Ave. Student council members will be available to help with parade line up starting at 12:30 p.m. at the city park. Calling in advance with parade entries is not necessary. Businesses are also invited and encouraged to decorate their windows and enter floats in the parade.
