Happy Birthday America!

The community of Lennox knows how to celebrate Independence Day! The 35th Annual Old Fashioned Fourth of July was a success, in spite of rain late in the day on Wednesday that cancelled the Municipal Band Concert and fireworks display. The fireworks were rescheduled to Saturday night, and went off without a hitch.

Much like the entire event, according to local Police Chief Orv Jorgensen, they saw very few problems considering the crowd that was in town.

“Thanks to all the officers who worked to make sure everyone had a good, safe time,” he said, “Big crowd, decent weather and an awesome parade!”

Lennox Mayor Tracy West concurred and said he couldn’t have been more proud of his hometown.

“It really captures the heart of Lennox — the small community pride and the efforts of the volunteers were unparalleled. Everybody pulled together and really put a bright, shiny face on Lennox for these two days.”
